Teak care and cleaning instructions
Welcome to our guide on how to properly care for your teak furniture. Renowned for its beautiful honey-brown hue and exceptional durability, teak wood is a favorite choice for both indoor and outdoor furniture. However, to keep your teak looking its best, it requires specific care and maintenance. Here’s how to ensure your teak furniture remains stunning for years to come.
Regular maintenance is key. We recommend checking your teak furniture every few months, especially if it’s exposed to the elements. Here are some additional care tips to keep in mind:
- Stain Removal: Clean up any spills immediately using a stiff bristle brush or plastic scraper, always scrubbing in the direction of the wood grain. For stubborn stains, you may need to wash the area with a diluted wood cleaner.
- Avoid High-Pressure Washers: These can damage the wood and should never be used for cleaning.
- Storage Considerations: When storing your furniture, keep it away from heaters and avoid direct sunlight exposure to prevent fading.
Teak wood, known for its rich color and natural oils, will gradually weather over time, shifting to a silver-gray patina. While some homeowners appreciate this natural aging process, others prefer to maintain the wood’s original golden-brown shade. To achieve this, it’s essential to apply the right products to restore its natural beauty and protect it from the elements. The following supplies will help you achieve a polished, long-lasting finish.
